Bio

Istiarti Berci Sarempaa earned a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction in 2025. She conducted her dissertation in qualitative research by combining three designs: hermeneutic phenomenology, case study, and ethnography. She has done various research studies and presentations on qualitative research study. 
This foundational class introduces course participants to ethnography as a qualitative research design. It supports the development of conceptual understanding and practical skills needed to design, conduct, and communicate ethnographic research with rigor and ethical sensitivity.
